This is a zen koan , and koans give headaches. They scramble your senses so you realise that everything is only a perspective – or something like this. ‘One’ is Nirvana, the Source, God, The Universe, eternity, the formless connected everything, then ten thousand things is a metaphor for the material world and all that has eveolved on the physical plane…I think the the thousand things is a Chinese translation thing.. daoist maybe.
