I love this photo, but then I love Shertan (the great amdo/Golok singer) and your poetic verse site is terrific I look forward to it each day

I like this quote a lot. It is deadpan funny, but it is also a validation of night. Night gets a bit of a bad rap in the west, as does darkness, and anything black. Without darkness there can be no light, and even the smallest light casts a shadow as robert A. Johnson explores in Owning Your Own shadow.

Thanks for your comments Jac, and thanks for the spelling of Shertan. i have put him in the tags. can you remeber the names of the other singers who were there, or are on the posters?

A day without sunshine is like a day to take classic photographs, you know?

Thanks marie. i love your comments. I beginning to think the key to classic photography is to carry your camera where others can’t be bothered – like a Tibetan Disco. Thanks for the photos the other day. can’t wait to see more of them uploaded.
